WARTHROX

Warthrox Is a Military robot that I made as my final year project. Initially, I thought of including a camera along with the gripper, but due to some weight issues, only the integration of the gripper was possible. I designed Warthrox to perform surveillance/reconnaissance and a wide range of other missions while keeping armed forces out of harm’s way.

The main feature of Warthrox is its three-link manipulator arm which can extend up to 150cm above the ground, The gripper mounted on the top of the manipulator's arm can grab suspicious objects. It can also be used to peek through windows of suspicious houses with the help of its long manipulator arm.

Warthrox moves on treads(continuous track), which are not as fast as wheels but they provide greater mobility than tires over rough terrain so it can traverse easily on mud and sand which makes it useful for the military purpose.

The three-link manipulator arm was constructed using PVC pipes (Painted black afterward!) and servo motors. Two high capacity rechargeable lead-acid Batteries were used for powering the motors and servos. Two high torque DC motors were used for the robot movement, and these motors were driven with the help of an L293D motor driver IC.The robot was controlled by a Bluetooth module and an android mobile phone. An Arduino UNO board was used as the brains of this Project.
